If you are wondering how to deepen your spiritual connection and find your higher purpose in this lifetime, it is time for you to look at the crown chakra.

The purple chakra, also known as the Crown Chakra or in Sankrit, Sahasrara Chakra, is the highest chakra of the physical body. It is the closest chakra to your higher self and can be used as a portal to access new energies and awareness.

What are the Seven Chakras (Energy Centers) of the body?

As a brief overview, there are thousands of chakras (spinning energy centers) in the body, that have an effect on your life. The most well-known of these are the seven chakras that run along the spine.

The root chakra is the first chakra, located at the very base of your spine. It is the color red and it rules feelings of stability, safety, and physical comfort.

The sacral chakra is the second chakra, located below the navel. The sacral chakra color is orange, and it rules sensuality, creativity, and intimacy.

The solar plexus chakra is number three, located above the navel, and below the rib cage. This is the power center of the body, ruling determination, willpower, motivation, and inner strength. The solar plexus chakra color is yellow, like the sun.

The fourth chakra is the heart chakra, which is connected with unconditional love, joy, compassion, and kindness. Its color is green.

The throat chakra is number five, and this chakra rules communication and your ability to both speak and listen to others. The throat chakra is represented by the color blue.

The sixth chakra is the third eye chakra. This third eye chakra color is indigo, and it is associated with clarity of thinking, connecting with future visions, and the ability to manifest and create with your own energy. Physically, it’s connected to the pineal gland, commonly called the seat of the soul.

The final of the seven chakras is the Crown chakra, the purple chakra, which we will explore in this article. Briefly, this chakra is connected with the higher spiritual realms and has a very energetic quality to it.

Purple Chakra Meaning

The purple chakra is slightly different from the other chakras in the physical body, as this particular chakra is more so associated with the spiritual side of life, energetic connections, and ascending to higher consciousness.

The purpose of this chakra is to remind us as humans that we are spiritual beings on a spiritual journey. Along this path is also the journey to self-realization and enlightenment, which is the moment when we realize the full potential that we possess.

The crown chakra is most closely connected to our soul and helps us to find out the meaning of why we are here on this planet at this time.

Meditation for the Crown Chakra

A powerful way of connecting with the seventh chakra is through a simple lotus meditation. This meditation is one that can be done as part of daily life as it is designed to bring overall spiritual well-being.

Find a comfortable seated position, and set your spine up in a way that the spinal cord is straight. Create a lotus mudra with your hands by bringing the base of the palms together, as well as the thumbs and pinky fingers. The other six middle fingers are spread out wide, like the petals of a lotus.

Then, bring this lotus shape mudra to the crown of your head by placing the wrists on the top of your head. Close your eyes and relax your body. Imagine a beautiful violet-colored lotus sitting on the crown of your head. Its petals are opening up to the spirituality of the world around you.

Invite in a divine light from above, imagining that a stream of pure white or violet light is moving from above, in through the crown of your head and down through the rest of your body. Rest here for around five to ten minutes, or longer if it feels comfortable for you.
