Extremely comfortable.

I purchased the Vivobarfoot Primus II in June directly from their website. The pricing is based on size availability, and they offer a 90-day return period. I accidentally bought a size too big but found it still wearable. Despite the roominess, I have run 100km in them without any slipping issues. The lacing system can be a bit problematic as the lace end needs to be tucked in to avoid stepping on it. The mesh upper offers no water resistance, so wearing socks is recommended. The minimal…

I consider myself a “one shoe for everything” person and these shoes have held up well. I use them for running, as water shoes, for mowing, working, everything. They show minimal wear and have tough soles for protection. They secure nicely at the ankle and prevent slipping and blisters. The only issue was not having in-between sizes which caused minor blisters on one toe. Removing the insoles solved the problem.

These shoes have helped strengthen my knees and back since I started wearing them.

I previously owned the Primus Knit shoes and initially thought they were an improvement, but they turned out not to be. The knit material around the upper part of the shoe is quite rigid, causing discomfort on the outer edge of my foot while walking. This new version has a softer, narrower fabric on the edges. I give two thumbs up for this barefoot-friendly option for hiking and outdoor walks! Thanks, Vivobarefoot, for providing such great physiologically correct shoes overall.

I bought these shoes in 2021 to go barefoot on hikes or similar activities. The sole is a bit sturdier and firmer than a “regular” barefoot shoe, but this is necessary for the stability required while hiking or for overall safety. Even after around 1000km (or more), I see no signs of damage. These shoes have been faithful companions. As is typical with hiking shoes, you may need to leave room to wear thicker socks.

Pros: I really like these shoes. They look great, are light, have a great barefoot ground feel, and are extremely breathable. The traction feels solid.
Cons: I’m really not sure what Vivobarefoot was thinking with these laces. The laces that come on the shoes are extremely thin and ribbed, which prevents them from properly moving and makes it hard to get a comfortable, tight fit. The narrow diameter causes them to cut into my feet when tightened enough to make the shoe feel secure. I almost…

Unfortunately currently overpriced, but worth it.

“Perfect All-Rounder”
I enjoy going barefoot and have experience with Wildlings, Fivefingers, and Shamma sandals. I’ve always been looking for a shoe that’s a bit more rugged and can handle wet forests, a shoe suitable for everyday wear, fitness, and parkour – a “barefoot shoe” that’s not too trail-heavy yet breathable. These shoes are great. Not as minimalist as Fivefingers but they offer good toe space, perfect fit, and are very high-quality and sturdy barefoot shoes.
“Ordering Half Sizes…

These shoes are perfect for my wide feet. They don’t pinch the sides or cause blisters on my toes like narrow shoes do. I have 3 styles now, and they are all excellent. I’m not sure if another barefoot shoe would be as good, but since these work for me, I’ll stick with them.

This is an updated review. Despite missing the return window, I found a way to make these shoes work by wearing them in situations that don’t require much bending. After about a month, they started feeling better as they loosened up. However, the lack of half sizes left me with a fit that was either too big or too small. When bent, the toe box created a hard ridge that pressed against my pinky toe, causing bruising. The non-elastic laces became a tourniquet in the bent position, making them…
