This product is not a traditional mat. It is half as thick and mostly filled with synthetics. If you are seeking something traditional, this is not the right choice.

I have been using these tatami mats and FULI futon for over a month now, and it has been fantastic. The tatami has the perfect amount of give and also looks great. It was well-packaged and came with a thoughtful note, care guide, and origami crane, which I really appreciated. I enjoy the smell, but if it’s too strong for you, it will fade over time as the tatami airs out.

After having this item on my wish list for a year, I finally decided to purchase it. Despite the price, it was completely worth it. The quality is exceptional and it has a pleasant cut grass scent without any chemical smell. One side is covered in felt, likely to prevent dirt accumulation when placed on the floor. Overall, it is a top-notch handmade product.

I purchased the twin XL size and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it is. It’s generously sized for my 5’5″ height and 220lb weight. The scent is reminiscent of fresh grass, which I find comforting. The tatami mat is thin, but that works well for me as I plan to fold it up daily. It seems sturdy, although the sections are held together with string. It’s more comfortable than lying directly on my carpeted floor. I am excited to pair it with my FULI twin XL mattress this weekend.

Upon initial inspection, everything appears to be in good condition, although the length is slightly shorter than the advertised 75 inches for the standard Full size option (75″L x 55″W). Nonetheless, the missing length does not bother me.

This is our second purchase of tatami mats from this company and we are extremely pleased with them. They are beautiful, comfortable to sit and lay on, and have a good sturdy thickness. This product is perfect – the tight knit ensures my dogs’ claws don’t damage it. I sleep on it with the matching futon and wouldn’t have it any other way. Having lived in Japan, I now realize the slight smell in hostels was from the tatami. I find the natural scent delightful, unlike perfume or essential oils.

The product feels great and cool to step on or lounge around, perfect for spring and summer. It can be used as a picnic mat if the area is dry. Currently using it as a sleeping mat for my full size XL Fuli mattress. Despite feeling the ground, I wake up without body sores or aches. Convenient to store due to its thinness when folded. Not recommended to attempt anything that may damage the mat. Dust can be blown off with an air compressor, just be cautious not to get too close. Hope this helps!

I purchased this tatami mat along with FULI’s shikifuton and it has been wonderful. It is very comfortable with a pleasant rush grass scent. It is great for relaxing and light stretching or yoga, although I wouldn’t recommend it for anything too vigorous due to the finish not being very grippy. My only concern is that the size of the mat is exactly the same as the mattress, so if you prefer some parts to peek out or tend to move a lot during the night, the futon may slip off the edges. I…
