I find this shikibuton incredibly comfortable to sleep on. It’s lightweight, easy to fold up, and store away. I doubt I’ll ever go back to sleeping on a traditional bed.

I purchased this mattress for my sister visiting from Japan. I’m pleased with its soft and comfortable feel! I appreciate how it folds up compactly when not in use. I recently added a cover and placed it in my living room for a relaxing space.
Fair Review –
This is a second review. I have used it multiple times as a topper for an air mattress and fold-out bed. It is very comfortable. It is important to let it air out after each use, which is typical for a futon. I appreciate that it is made in Japan.
Violet Roan –
The “mattress” lacks sufficient foam and stuffing, measuring barely 1 1/2″ thick even after airing it out for 5 days. It feels more like an overpriced mattress topper. The return process is expensive and you have to cover the cost despite their poor craftsmanship. The product appears quilted but the foam shifts and bunches up easily. Save $190 by folding up a blanket twice instead of purchasing this disappointing “mattress.”

The product is very well made and comfortable. I use it as an air mattress topper with a fitted sheet over it. It’s a bit heavy for me to carry at 70 years old. When not in use, I keep it in a space bag folded in quarters. I purchased a full size. I find it’s not comfortable just on the floor or carpet. 4 stars for that reason only.

The product arrived nicely compressed. Upon opening and trying it out, I found it comfortable to sleep on, easy to fold, and made in Japan, so everything is great. I plan to purchase one for my daughters in the future.

The mattress takes a few days to decompress and initially has a funny smell that dissipates. At first, I found it too thin for my liking, but over time, I got used to it. I’m happy with its thickness now, as it doesn’t create a tall tower when rolled up with a duvet. I recommend getting a cover for it. If you’re on the heavier side, you may want to consider something thicker as this might be too firm for you.

I received this product and immediately tried it out as a futon. Despite its thin appearance, the balance between firmness and softness was just right, and I didn’t feel any strain on my body while sleeping. I laid it on top of a carpet and found it comfortable whether on the floor or with a bed frame. The Twin size (100cm x 200cm) is perfect for one adult and one child. My child also liked this new, fluffy futon. It’s made in Japan with beautiful stitching and no fraying or damage. I plan…
