I adore using this product while traveling. It’s lightweight, easy to fold, and allows me to have a proper stretch/yoga session in my hotel room without having to use the carpet or struggle with a bath towel as a mat. While it’s not padded like a yoga mat, it offers good length coverage and stays in place with a nice grip. The best part is that it’s machine washable and holds up well after washing (I recommend air drying). Despite being labeled as a mat towel, I use it exclusively as a…

I’m purchasing my second mat, as I bought my first one a year ago. It’s slippery when dry, but provides great grip when sweating or with a bit of water. The rubbery surface on the opposite side keeps it in place when used as a cover. I wash it every 2 weeks, despite manufacturer’s advice, and it’s still in great shape after a year. Too thin for hard floors, but perfect as a cover for a foam mat.

    3. unsure but confident

The product has just the right amount of anti-slip and is pretty heavy due to the rubber, which is needed for grip texture. No special socks or gloves are needed to use it and it doesn’t require wetting. It works great for someone who is 175cm tall and 69kg. When folded, it behaves like velvet cloth, making it difficult to damage the rubber side. I wash it in the washing machine and wrinkles disappear after drying. It needs to be dried with the rubber side out first, then the soft side. It…

I was looking for something else from Gaiam, a 0.1 cm mat but the Canadian company only sells it in America and not in Europe: this is basically a Bikram yoga towel if I’m not mistaken…

    5. Hannah

I use this towel on top of my inexpensive Target yoga mat to absorb sweat and improve traction, and it works perfectly. The rubber coating on the bottom prevents sliding, and its weight keeps it in place. This towel is a bit pricey but well worth it – a significant improvement over using just a mat, particularly during hot yoga. Just toss it in the washing machine on cold and hang dry, it dries quickly and looks like new after multiple washes.

Does not meet expectations. Would not recommend this type of product. Not deserving of a star rating.

    7. Morso

The product had a strong rubber smell and the surface wore out after a few washes. The rubber side became sticky and started cracking after less than 20 uses. Not recommended.

    8. gymrat

I like the mat cover, but it doesn’t seem to grip the yoga mat as well as previous versions of the product.

    9. M. Hager

I belong to two gyms, one provides everything for yoga including these towels, the other only offers mats and blocks. I needed a rubber-backed yoga towel that is absorbent and slip-proof. Regular towels and socks don’t cut it in hot yoga. This towel is perfect – easy to use, lightweight, and fits in my gym bag. I wash it with dark towels and dry it in the dryer with no issues.

    10. Nayeli

Simply put, I love it. Sweat doesn’t seep through to the mat, you can use it multiple times in a row without any bad smells lingering, you don’t slip, and it stays in place without sliding on the mat. Highly recommended. 🙂

I have only tried a few poses on this mat so far, including yin yoga. I found the color to be different from what was advertised – I ordered “Purple” but it turned out to be a lighter shade than expected. Despite this, I appreciate that it is machine washable and compact. Washing it helped reduce the rubber smell. I did experience some slipping on the microfiber side during downward facing dog, so I may stick to using the rubber side for certain poses. Overall, I think it will serve well as…

    12. Giovanna

Excellent quality with amazing absorption and easily washable.

My wife is a big fan of this towel. We have multiple yoga towels for hot yoga sessions, but she claims this one as her own. The first one wore out after a few years, likely due to overheating in the dryer. We now hang towel #2 on a rack to dry. The sticky side adheres well to the yoga mat, while the top side offers good grip and soaks up sweat effectively. I wish they would bring back the other color options so I could have a different one from my wife.
